The following are the guidelines for character creation. PCs must be of good alignment, also consider which leadership position your character will be taking once we get to the kingdom building portion of the campaign.
Use the 4d6 take the best 3 for stats, re-rolling 1s. After you have rolled your 6 stats, you can place them where ever you want for your character. Core and Featured races are allowed. One thing to note if you will be playing a Featured race, you should consider that your character will be passing themselves off as the Core race you closely resemble instead of your actual Featured race. Core, Base and Hybrid classes are allowed.
I’m going to expand the character creation a little bit, before you take your first level in ‘main’ class, first take a level in one of the following NPC classes, Adept, Aristocrat, Commoner, Expert or Warrior. This class will count toward your overall character levels for any prerequisites required. Take full hit points for this class as well as full hit points for the first level of your ‘main’ class.
Just in case you guys don’t realize it, I have linked the Pathfinder Online SRD for the races and classes above, but just in case you need that link again…Pathfinder Online SRD.
Don’t forget to create a character page once you’ve gotten your character created. You can make them in the characters section. Use the Pathfinder RPG Universal Sheet as the Dynamic Sheet Template.
I’m probably going to use the kingdom building rules in the Ultimate Campaign book for Pathfinder. They seem to be a lot better fleshed out and I imagine that they were created after the Kingmaker AP rules were written. As such a few things have changed, for instance the information about each leadership role. I’ll be updating the information for each of those as I read through the new rules. I will put a footnote at the bottom of each entry when I have updated it.
The information about each leadership role can be viewed at the following links, (in order presented in the adventure path book) ruler, consort, councilor, general, grand diplomat, heir, high priest, magister, marshal, royal enforcer (was originally royal assassin), spymaster, treasurer, viceroy and warden.
Lastly, you should download the Kingmaker Player’s Guide PDF from the Paizo site. It’s free to everyone, so you won’t have to spend any money, but I strongly suggest you get it and read through it as it provides the players with valuable information concerning the adventure path!
